In my social ethics class, we read a lot of social encyclicals. For the most part they read horribly because the class is structured in a way that is difficult to think. A more efficient and effective means of reading encyclicals would be to read them topically:
- choose one topic (many times the topic will present itself)
- google search (social) encyclical N. (your topic)
- ctrl+f your topic
- read
- look up other encycliclals
- ctrl+f your topic
- or use the google advanced fetures
- death penalty site:vatican.va
- (search term) site:vatican.va
